Toyo History

In August of 1945, a man named Toyo Boseki (given the nickname “Toyobo”) merged Toyo Rubber Industrial with Hirano Rubber Manufacturing to create the Toyo Tire and Rubber Company. Boseki continued to expand the company, and in 1963, Toyo tires debuted in the United States. Three years later, in 1966, Toyo made history as the first Japanese tire company to create a United States based subsidiary. The Toyo Tire Corporation (now known as Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.) sold tires to United States customers for vehicles of almost every make and model.
