It can be difficult to know which fuel system cleaner to use and how they differ. So we have compared the top two fuel system cleaners on the market and differentiated how they should be looked at when figuring out which one to use. The top two fuel cleaner products on the market are BG 44k and BG CF5. These products boost performance, restore fuel economy and decrease harmful emissions. So how do you choose which one is right for your car?
When trying to figure out which of the top two fuel system cleaners to use think of them as the vacuum and the commercial carpet shampooer.
BG CF5® is like a vacuum in that it maintains the cleanliness brought on by the carpet shampooer. If we had a medal ceremony, BG CF5 would take the silver medal, to BG44K, which we will cover next. This is why we consider this product the vacuum of the system.
BG CF5® fuel system cleaner prevents deposits throughout the entire fuel system. This product should be added at each oil change, about every 5,000 miles. BG CF5 will keep injectors, pistons, fuel intake components and sensors clean and free of damaging deposits and corrosion. The days of carburetors are gone, and with that has come excessive carbon build up on injectors, pistons, intake valves, the throttle plate, and other components no longer being washed by detergents that once washed over these components. Like anything three steps forward, one-step backwards.
Unlike the vacuum/shampooer comparison, BG CF5® has its own advantages over BG 44K®. BG CF5® is an excellent fuel stabilizer, which is especially helpful against the harmful corrosive effects of ethanol. If you live in the Midwest than you likely gas up at QuikTrip. There is no better gas station in these parts. At the same time, they mostly offer Ethanol-mix gasoline. You have to look for a sign stating pure gasoline, if you are wanting to get gasoline without Ethanol.
Prevention is very hard to measure. What is measureable is when a component fails and it requires service & maintenance. Being reactive with a vehicle is always more costly than proactive preventative maintenance. We believe in CF5 & 44k to the point we are willing to put up to $6,000 against engine & fuel system failures.
If your non-Flex fuel vehicle runs on high ethanol-containing gasoline (E15 or more), consider running a “vacuum” through your fuel system every oil change. BG CF5® will protect fuel system components and to prevent the fuel from creating nasty deposits in your car’s fuel system. Tulsa Fuel System Repair
BG 44K® is like the carpet shampooer in that it deep cleans, very quickly. How often do you get your carpets commercially cleaned? Every six months? Annually. Consider the 44k that same way. BG wants use this product every 7,500-10,000 miles (depending on driving conditions), which for most people is once a year. If you are anything like me though, that’s every 6 months. Oklahoma dirt roads can add excessive wear to engines, transmissions, and other moving parts. If you deal with that Oklahoma red dirt, consider using this closer to the 7,500 mile interval.
BG 44K® is the best fuel system cleaner on the market, by far.
BG 44K® is 11 ounces of high quality detergents and additives that you pour right into the gas tank to restore performance and gas mileage. It removes carbon from combustion chambers, intake manifolds, ports and on valves and restores flow in fuel injectors. Also proven to clean oxygen sensors and catalytic converters. This product cleans the entire fuel system!
BG 44K® is the best choice for a rapid fuel system clean-up. But if you’re looking to maintain that cleanliness over a long period of time, opt for BG CF5®. Then throw in a can of BG 44K® once a year to really give it a good cleaning. Fuel System Repair Wichita>>
